San Florian Retablo Patron of Firefighters, Chimney Sweeps, Brewers, Soap Boilers, Poland and Austria; Invoked against Drowning, Fire and Floods.
It is said that Florian once put out a raging fire with a single pitcher of water. Florian was a 4th century Roman soldier who confessed his own Christianity rather than take part in the persecution of Christians in Austria. For this, a millstone was tied around his neck and he was thrown in to the River Enns (Austria) in 304 AD.
