St. Henry II, Holy Roman Emperor Patron of Childless Couples & Benedictine Oblates
King Henry II was born into royalty. He received an ecclesiastical education and became a devout and pious man. He was also a man of his times, who, through many battles tried to bring peace to Europe. In 1014 he became the Holy Roman Emperor. He established many dioceses stressing service to the church and promoting monastic reform. He was canonized in 1146 for his devotion and piety.
