Have you ever tried to fascinate a woman with a piece of cheese? Or  burned a photo of an ex? Do you ever stop and wonder just what was in  “Love Potion No. 9?” The history of folk magic and sorcery is strewn  with the litter of a million love spells, and in this two-hour course  we’ll look at a handful of them to see what they can tell us about the  nature of that magic and our own relationships. We’ll begin with a  general historical overview, then dive into six “forms” of love spells:  Love Divinations, General Purpose Loving Spells,  Potions/Aphrodisiacs/Philtres, Targeted Love Spells, Stay-Together  Spells, and Break-up Spells. We’ll talk about the romantic, the  disturbing, and the downright weird ways in which human beings pursue  love with sorcery.
